Ashberry Lane Publishing was founded in February of 2013 by President Sherrie Ashcraft and Publisher Christina Tarabochia. This mother-daughter duo had written together for fourteen years and felt the time had come to publish their co-written novel, On the Threshold, after many rounds of making it to the final committee–or even a verbal contract before a company downsized–but never quite getting that sale. While their plans were to eventually publish others’ novels, they had no idea what they were in for.
In the words of Ephesians 3:19-20, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” (NASB) The growth of Ashberry Lane is surely more than the two women were ever able to imagine.
Only weeks after On the Threshold‘s release, Dianne Price approached Ashberry Lane. Terminal cancer would soon take her life, and she wanted her gorgeously rich, six-book series to find a home before she passed on to her eternal reward. Ashberry Lane quickly negotiated a contract with her agent, Terry Burns of Hartline Literary Agency, and tried to speed up the publishing process as much as possible. Nicole Miller of Miller Media Solutions, using photos from a live model shoot done by Ashlee Murr Photography, worked heroically and finalized all six covers while Dianne was still here to see them. Sadly, Dianne died one week before her first novel, Broken Wings, released. Ashberry Lane is honored to carry out the vision that Dianne so deeply believed in and to share the WWII love story of an RAF nurse and an American bomber pilot.
Shortly thereafter, Ashberry Lane had the privilege of negotiating a contract with Books & Such Literary Agency to re-release a 20th Anniversary Revised Edition of Bonnie’s debut novel, The Journey of Eleven Moons. Once again, Nicole Miller designed an amazing cover with Ashlee Murr’s photos. This unique story of two girls left to survive in 1850s Alaska after a natural disaster cannot be missed.
Thus the journey of Ashberry Lane Publishing began. We look forward to publishing and distributing many more Heartfelt Tales of Faith over the next years. Please join us by signing up for the Ashberry Lane Newsletter and liking the Ashberry Lane Facebook page.
